Features

Velodyne is a full featured Higher Order-based finite element explicit time integration solver. The code contains a wide variety and ranging complexity of material constitutive routines as well as equations of state to represent the physical behavior of both solid and fluid materials. In addition, Corvid Technologies has implemented several unique features that allow us to move beyond the typical limitations of commercial FEA codes and solve complex, high-rate dynamic problems. These features include Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH), Element to Particle Conversion, Higher Order Auto-Contact, Multi-phase Equations of State (EOS), Thermal/Structural Coupled Solvers, and Reaction Kinetics of Energetic Materials.

Structural / Thermal Solver
Corvid Technologies is developing a structural/thermal solver by coupling our implicit thermal solver and explicit structural solver within the Velodyne framework. This is primarily being developed for Insensitive Munitions applications, but it can be applied to other areas of interest.
